When should you start Baby Cereals/Porridges?
Baby cereals/porridges are foods that are given to babies before they reach their first year of age. These foods help them develop physically and mentally. In any culture, parents start baby porridges as a first food for their babies when they are around six months old or sometimes in the 5th month, but this is not an age-specific guideline. The most important factor in deciding when you should start feeding a baby porridge or cereal is the needs of your child. When ever you start it is important to check whether the baby food is natural, seasonal and regional that are made of 100% natural ingredients
(especially whole grains ) without preservatives, artficial ingredients & sugars.

Indian Baby Cereals/ Baby Porridges
Porridges are considered to be the healthiest options for babies and hence, Indian mothers have been using various porridges to feed their babies for many centuries now.
Different types of porridges are popular in different areas of India. Few common ones are Kurukku, Uggu and Ukkiri. All are made with different whole grains that are avaiable regionally & locally.
We at Nutreat has done our great research on these lost recipes of Indian baby cereals & handcraft them using Indian primitive techniques like sprouting, sun drying, claypot roasting & stonegrinding that retains maximum nutrients through less processing.
Here we also concentrate & customize on offering baby foods according to our customer region & season.

Whatelse can you add to these baby cereals?
It is always better to give baby cereals as they are and as simple as they can be. However sometimes, you may prefer adding boiled& mashed potatoes, carrots, apples, sweet potatoes & seasonal greens to the baby cereals depending upon baby's digestion & age. Don't over do by adding more than 1 at a time. Make sure you follow a 3-day rule while introducing these veggies or fruits. Make sure that you add only water but not milk to cook these baby cereals until till 6th month. Later you can try adding milk or buttermilk after 8th month stage wise or according to your family traditions.
